Training Platform
Built for your crew. Scaled for your franchise.
A custom training & certification system you own outright. No per-location fees. No vendor lock-in. One build, infinite scale.

Here's the Situation
With 8 locations today and a major focus on franchise expansion, 20, 50, or more locations will be here before you know it. The current approach to training works when you're hands-on at every location, but that window is closing fast. Off-the-shelf platforms get you partway there, but none of them are built for how 3 Pepper actually operates, and the monthly fees only get worse the more you grow. A purpose-built system that you own outright is the move.
Training Is All Over the Place
- No centralized system, so onboarding quality depends entirely on who's running the shift
- Handbook sign-off lives in payroll software nobody opens
- Prep guide binders are outdated the moment they're printed
- LTO rollouts require retraining everyone with no standardized delivery
Franchise Growth Demands Consistency
- 8 locations today, potentially 20–30+ within 2–3 years, and that gap will only widen
- No repeatable system for new franchisees to deploy on their own
- Every existing employee needs a universal baseline before expansion
- Shaun can't personally onboard every new location forever
SaaS Costs Scale With You
- Opus Training: ~$80/month per location, which is $28,800/year at 30 stores
- TalentLMS caps at 15 locations on their Premium plan and still lacks franchise-level features
- 5-year projection with franchise growth: $90K–$120K in subscription fees
- Every new location adds another monthly line item with no end in sight
You Want to Own It
- Prep guide content is proprietary and can't live on someone else's platform
- Different franchisees use different payroll providers, so there's no universal integration point
- If a vendor relationship sours, you need to walk away with your system intact
- No per-location fees getting passed down to franchisees as operating costs

The Math
Custom platform vs. SaaS alternatives over 5 years
5-Year Cumulative Cost
Annual Cost Per Year
Cumulative Total Through Year
About TalentLMS:Cheaper on paper, but their Plus plan caps at 3 locations and Premium caps at 15. Beyond that requires custom Enterprise pricing. No franchise-level reporting, no built-in bilingual content workflow (you'd maintain duplicate courses), basic mobile experience, and DIY implementation with no onboarding support. The price gap narrows fast when you factor in what it can't do.
Bottom line:Year 1 is your biggest investment. After that, you're at $400/month while everyone else's costs keep climbing with every location you add. By year 5, Opus will have cost $90K+ and you'd still own nothing. An agency would charge $80K–$120K just for the build. Your total through year 5: ~$52K, and you own it outright.
Year 1 Total (Recommended)
Then ~$400/month ongoing. Full ownership from day one. Scales to 100 locations at zero marginal cost.
